History
We have been in operation since 1997. We began our farming experience with four yearling whethers from Liberty Ridge Farm in N.Y. state. They were our "knights of the round table", our warrior whethers. Named accordingly: Arthur, Lancelot, Sir Galahad, and Sir Gawain. If we were able to keep them healthy and happy for a year, in all kinds of different weather conditions and issues of farming, we would then and only then, move on to breeding. During that first year, we fellin love withthe gentle dispositions of the Angora Breed. Hence our current herd.
It has been our love for Aurtherian literature, old stories, and myth that has inspired our farm name and was clinched when we got the wethers.
It has been more than a decade of goat farming before we branched into the world of fiber and fiber art. Art has been a part of our lives and Karen's career, so owning fiber animals (for textile applications) as our farm venture was part of the original attraction to having Angora goats. However, it was only after a career transition and life change did there become time and room for another direction. Oh how fulfilling and exciting it has become.
