Done Good

This is just a quick post to declare some good.  It is the first time my small business has done this, so I am kinda proud.  Today I made a tiny donation towards finding a cure for breast cancer.

I have been producing Saint Mary’s Scarf kits since the beginning of my dying yarn.  It was one of my first patterns and then one of my first kits.  Kudos to Linda Minnick of Mid Valley Fibers because she was instrumental in both.  However, this year I just decided to pack the kit boxes full of different shades of pink yarn and name this colorway after a dear neighbor who battled and succeeded in the fight against breast cancer.  My pink combo yarn box is called the McDavid colors.  And, this spring at my shows I have put a few out with a sign showing folks that they could a cool idea would be to knit these scarves to wear on their Breast Cancer awarness walks, like Race for the Cure.

Well, now I’ve sold a bunch and thought I need to continue the mission be sending in some profit from the kits towards finding a cure.  Today I sent in to the American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer fund.  Its a good feeling to have the yarn do some good!
